About The Guide
At The Field Guide to Wine, we curate the best wine experiences happening all around us to elevate and inspire your next experience with wine, wherever you find yourself.
We are not sommeliers (and that is intentional). Our aim is broader than the wine itself. We think wine is more than where it comes from and how it tastes — it immediately elevates a basic moment into something special… it evokes lifelong memories enshrouded by new friendships and beautiful places… it takes us out of our homes and into new pockets of the world.
The Field Guide to Wine will bring all of this (and more!) to you through our visually-driven features, celebrating the joy that comes from wine. We invite you to join us as we explore wine beyond ratings and tasting notes, and embrace its cultural and emotional significance for all of us.
The Mission
At The Field Guide to Wine, we aim to deepen your connection with wine by inspiring travel and wine-centric experiences.
We’re committed to curating the most special wine experiences which reflect our high standards of quality and hospitality, fostering a deeper appreciation for wine as an art form and cultural current.
Background
Lauren Snedden founded The Field Guide to Wine in early 2026. Her love for food and wine began in Sevilla while studying there in college, and she never looked back.
Alongside her family and 20+ years in corporate marketing and communications, much of her free time has been devoted to food and wine-centric travel around the world. She’s a fanatic about finding and creating experiences with soul.
Now, after decades in Tech, CPG and almost every other major industry, she’s bringing her journalism and communications background to the field(s) she loves the most.
Welcome to The Field Guide to Wine.
